Grand Master Richard Osborn

Grand Master Richard Osborn, Sr., was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.  Grand Master Osborn is the first Martial Artist to be inducted.  He has made Martial Arts History.

Grand Master Richard Osborn, Sr, .................9th Degree Black Belt

  GRAND MASTER RICHARD OSBORN, SR. has been teaching Tae Kwon Do since 1979. He has taught over 2,000 students, has 100 blackbelts, and 25 certified instructors. Mr. Osborn held the undisputed Welter Weight Kickboxing Belt for 6 years, retiring with a record of 30-4.Mr. Osborn competed on a regular basis. He attended tournaments all over the United States. He has competed in Boston, Canada, New York, Kentucky, Chicago, the list goes on and on. He is well known among other competitors for his expertise and wisdom.Mr. Osborn placed consistency in the top 3 at tournaments, and regularly wins Grand Champion of the over-all tournament. He has been rated Regionally, Nationally and Internationally since 1982. You can find Mr. Osborn in many of the karate magazines, such as Black Belt Magazine, Karate/Kungfu Illustrated, Action and SKI Magazine. He ended his regional career in 1999 massing over 1,000 awards. Mr. Osborn has been a board member of the Midwest Martial Arts Association since1999.

His point tournament career has earned him an excess of 1500 trophies. His point tournaments earned him a rating in the top 5 of national and regional rating circuits such as PKL, SKI, NASKA, MARS, RSKC, USA-KIA and MMA, MOCAN, and NBL. Master Richard Osborn Jr., 7th Degree Black Belt

 

Richard Osborn Jr. started his martial arts career in 1983. By the the late 80's he became one of the youngest black belts in the midwest. Proving to be one of the top junior competitors in the region he routinley competed in regional and national competitions. Consistenly placing in the top three in his junior divisions he amassed over 500 top three finishes. A couple of highlights of his junior wins came at Bluegrass nationals and the NBL supergrands in 1994. At the age of 14 he began to teach adult and childrens classes at his fathers schools and continues to teach today. He has helped train young children and adults, male and female to become champions in the ring and in life. He continues to compete today still showing the same consistency he did as a junior. Teaching and building people remains his first goal,building strong competitors is also apart of his progression as a black belt. Becoming one of the youngest ranking 6th degree black belts he follows in the tradition of his father.

Master Brandon Osborn, 6th Degree Black Belt

Brandon Osborn started the martial arts at the age of 5 under the watchful eye of his father Richard Osborn sr. And his brother Richard Osborn jr. He received his black belt at the age of 8 years old. Brandon along the way received many honors as a under black belt competitor but really took off when he received his black belt. Wining numerous times locally and placing top 3 at national and world events. Mr Osborn reached the level of master at the age of 19 with his 4th degree promotion. Throughout his teachings he has taught in over 8 locations, now assisting in running 4 tae kwon do schools in Springfield, Joplin, galena, and el dorado springs Missouri. Master Osborn and his father flew to new jersey to be inducted into the 2003 action martial arts hall of fame. This honor is only experienced by a few martial artists that year now the event has grown to 5,000 attendants.

Master Irby started Tae Kwon Do in oct of 1996 He received his black belt in 1998 Master Irby has been teaching since 1998 Master Irby Has been a partner with Richard Osborn Sr. since 1998  Master Irby has placed top 3 in mma ratings since 1998.  Master Irby has also  placed in the top 5 in fighting all 6 years That he has competed at louisville Kentucky at the Bluegrass National and world tournament hosted by Mr. Ken Eubanks.  With two thirds and one second in fighting...

Mr. Hillburn is a 4th Degree Black Belt who began as a student in 1990 at the Scenic and Walnut Location. .

He has been hitting the tournament scene and doing well in the mens heavyweight division. Mr Hilburn has competed in many local and national tournaments over the years, winning world and national titles.  With 17 years of experience, he is a great addition to the list of instructors bringing a flair of the old school to the new creating a powerfull way of teaching. 

You can catch Mr. Hillburns classes on friday nights from 6-8 pm.

Master Bonnie Rash, 4th Degree Black Belt

Richard "Pete" Avery, Instructor

Mr. Avery is the instructor, along with Rundale Mosely, in Rogersville.  This new sister-school has just opened in September, 2008 and already on it's way to success.  Mr. Avery has been with Osborn's for approximately 3 years and is a 1st Degree Black Belt.  Mr. Avery has competed on the National Martial Arts Circuits as well as regional.  He is rated as a top Black Belt Competitor in the MMASC.

Mr. Ozark Nunez, Instructor

Mr. Ozark Nunez, 1st Degree Black Belt has been with Osborn's for nearly 4 years.  Mr. Nunez comes to Osborn's all the way from Panama.  Mr. Nunez is a great asset to the instruction at Osborn's.  Mr. Nunez is a top rated competitor in the MMASC.  His most recent sparring Grand Champion was won in Warsaw, Missouri at Mike Gibson's tournament.  It is expected in the near future, Mr. Nunez will be opening his own school.

Dawn latham-Jones, Assistant Instructor

Mrs. Dawn Latham-Jones has been with Osborn's Tae Kwon Do for more than 15 years.  Ms. Latham-Jones was absent from the school while she pursued her college degree and started a family.  She is back full-time approximately 2 years ago along with her husband, Joe and son, Jenzen.  Ms. Latham-Jones is a great resource in the instruction of Tae Kwon Do.  Ms. Latham-Jones is a top-3-rated competitor in the MMASC.

Mr. Matt Hounslow, Assistant Instructor

Mr. Hounslow has been with Osborn's Tae Kwon Do for about two years.  He is rated No. 1 in the MMASC Senior Mens Division in both Sparring and Forms.  He is a great addition to the instruction at Osborn's.  Mr. Hounslow has made martial arts a family past-time as his wife, Joan and son, Jesse are also students at Osborn's. 

Mr Alcorn started his Tae Kwon Do career at age 7.  Recieving his Black Belt at age 10.  After taking some time off for other activites he returned to Tae Kwon Do.  Mr. Alcorn states he has a true passion for MA and plan on making it a part of everything he does in the future.  Mr. Alcorn has been with Grand Master Osborn for a year, and in that short amount of time has grown more in desire to continue on. 
 
Some of his accomplishments are recieving my instructor certificate in May 2009.  Traveling to Tulsa, OK and beating thier top rated number one Jr. Black Belt.  Being 1st place in the MMASC in Junior Black Belt fighting and inducted into the 2008 MMASC Hall of Fame.
 
In the future he plans to have his own school, but untill then he intends to continue teaching for Grand Master Osborn.
